Stephen Watson - Developer
Stephen is the Lead Developer at Merkury Games, he also likes to help design games with original ideas. He is best at work when problem solving and developing and updating Merkury Games' 2D game engine, his main aim is to make the engine as easy as possible for the team to use to develop a wide variety of classic 2D game genres.
He has been playing games pretty much all of his life, he believes his first word was"Pitfall"! He prefers older 8-bit 16-bit games to the games of today, a time when games were more fun, less mainstream and less copy-and-past- to-get-another-game-out-every-single-year-without-fail.
His thinking behind putting together this team was "Well if no one else will make games I love to play anymore I'll do it myself" and so he is.
Likes: Retro games, Comedy, Sci-fi and PC gaming.
Dislikes: Modern wars, paying for stuff on console that is free on PC, DRM, companies that buy out amazing developers then kill them off and sit on their IP's and create clone after clone every year, and not being able to share his games with friends.

Lewis Gordon - Developer
Lewis is one of the co founders of Merkury Games along with Stephen Watson, it originally started out just two students looking to help each other out and then developed into the idea of working as a team itself. Lewis is the junior programmer within the team and works particular on the UI and Level design but does mix between various different aspects when creating the game itself.
Games is something Lewis has been brought up around and has always the drive to say I want to create a game, this is something that pushed the games development career aspect for Lewis.
Likes: Retro games, thrillers, Sci-fi, console and PC gaming.
Dislikes: Not really a dislike person but if I had to be it would be the terrible remakes on classic films or games.

Joe Stanley - Artist & Animator
I've got a 20 year background using AutoCAD both 2D/3D (but that was engineering design of power stations, oil rigs etc), so I'm hoping I'll be
able to turn my hand to most aspects once I've got into the tools required for
game production etc.I've been into gaming since I was a child and I also have skill which should transfer well into the artist/animator course.
Dudley Long - Artist & Animator
Dudley was brought in because of his previous work done with other teams and his knowledge of 8/16 bit drawings. Dudley has been a 3D modeller for the last 3 to 4 years, but then decided he wanted to go in a different direction and improve on the amount of work he can do so he signed up to Train2Game on the artist and animator course where he began to do some 2D work as well as 3D where he found the 2D work was something he had adapted to quite well. Dudley within the team is specifically dealing with the backgrounds within the levels, but has also taken on the task of adapting our concept art to a sprite form. Mytho Games is Dudley's development team which he is the co founder of but he often does work with ourselves to progress himself further with different varieties of portfolio work.
